Dear Friends, Fellow Art and Color Lovers,

What a joy to be back in the studio!

Lately, I've been reflecting on the idea that less is more, on being very selective with my energy, time, and the things I wish to hold on to. Shedding unnecessary belongings has allowed me to cherish what remains even more deeply. Following my return from India, I've found myself increasingly compelled to share my color knowledge and foster deeper connections with others, prompting a transformation in both my artistic and personal outlooks. This newfound perspective has ignited a strong desire to intimately share this redefined lifestyle through my artistic practice. It also led to expanding a bit beyond my usual materials of predilection, starting experimenting with creating biomaterials (Nothing finalized quite yet. The intent is questioning how much further I could implement biowaste in my process).

From this first gut feeling, last spring, of diving into “Energy” of all kinds and after studying way more of the intersections of sound and color, I have finally followed that call to invite visual vibrations and sound frequencies to play together in the same space and create a dialogue if not harmony. This is taking a lot of different shapes from experiments of “hearing color and seeing sound” to harnessing the benefits of hues projected on the body (you will find this one below in the workshop section) together with the vibrations of my singing bowls. My most pressing wish with these is to alchemize their healing properties.

Embracing intuition and moments of peaceful silence has become integral to my creative process. The profound intention found since coming back has changed my relationship with each step of my process turning every stage into an energy ritual.

From these moments of peace, the idea of the degree zero of color came to mind again. Would it be a black or a white? It could be both in my opinion. However, the thought of black holes came to my mind. I then came to wonder what would the color of “silence” be or what could silence look like in terms of texture and color. After all, even the Big Bang, this sudden burst of energy that birthed the universe from the depth of the void, was a “silent” bang. It didn’t make it less powerful. The universe was born silently. And just like that, deep in my thoughts, looking at my Colorful Blacks maxi scale pieces I am currently finalizing, I realized what my heart and hands were intending to create: “Blissful Voids”. Quietly but powerfully loud colors by their energy push & pulls.

To this, I now wish to add the layer of sound I feel the color would express if it could make noise. (Here is a recording of the converted sound of the Big Bang created by physicist John G. Cramer from cosmic microwaves)

I've recently adopted the practice of purifying the water intended for dye baths by exposing it to the vibrations of my sound healing bowls beforehand. Numerous intricacies, which may appear insignificant to an external observer, are meticulously attended to. Yet, I am deeply convinced the genuine intent and affection invested will resonate within the final pieces.

Here I am, now riding the wave of inspiration these past few weeks with so many exciting ideas and projects blooming, which I can’t wait to share below and in the coming weeks.
